This drop down door seal is BS476:Part 31:1 compliant (smoke seal), it will also act as an acoustic door seal, and help keep out drafts and save energy.

This drop down door seal has a lightweight mechanism that is self levelling when activated. The ultra soft silicone bubble is mounted in a satin anodised holder that is released when the door is closed dropping on to the threshold and sealing the gap, when the door is opened the spring loaded mechanism retracts the holder up in to the bottom of the door.

Installation is simple, rebate a channel in the bottom of the door 15mm wide to a depth of 34mm, cut the door seal to length and insert in to the rebate, a striking plate is attached to the door frame, and adjustment is made with the grub-screw.

This threshold seal is suitable for gaps between 3 and 13mm, and has been tested to provide up to 41db of noise reduction. Drop down adjustment length is achieved by pulling out the actuator button and turning; anti-clockwise to lower, and clockwise to shorten the drop.
