108" Exitex Garex Garage Door Draught Excluder Satin Silver
This 2744mm garage door draught excluder is suitable for, inward opening, outward opening, and roller-shutter garage doors. This Exitex Garex garage door seal can be fitted to steel, timber and composite doors. (Other colours and lengths upto 4.6m are available on special order).
The Exitex Garex garage draught excluder is also a weather deflector and is supplied with end caps to neatly conceal any sharp corners and raw edges.
This Garex garage draught excluder has been designed to prevent rain, draughts, dust and snow entering underneath exterior garage doors. A little care in correct fitting will ensure long, efficient and satisfactory service. Please note the following stages of installation.
If necessary cut the Garex garage draught excluder to length. The correct measure is taken across the outside edges of the door less 6mm for Protective Weather Deflecting End Caps. Ensure the bottom sealing blade and Surface seal are left 10mm longer than the aluminium. Or, if you have an inward opening side hinged garage door and your door frame has a rebate, measure the actual door width if you prefer to notch the Garex into the door frame rebate.
When the Garex weather deflector is cut to the correct length, leave the sealing blade extending by 5mm at each end, pinch the end of the seal retaining channel on both sides of the door. This ensures that the sealing blade remains in position during opening and closing of the door.
Carefully Install End Caps As Follows; slightly flatten the fins on anchoring tongue and push the aluminium into the entire recess in the End Cap, a small amount of Elast-O-Seal sealant will help retention, a gentle tap will ensure they are seated correctly. DO NOT TRY TO INSERT END CAPS ONCE GAREX DOOR BASE DEFLECTOR IS FITTED TO THE DOOR.
Position the Garex deflector ensuring the sealing blade contacts the ground with the door closed. Now screw or pop rivet into position onto the door. Ensure a fixing screw or pop rivet is inserted within 25mm of the edges of the door to secure End Caps. (If necessary drill additional holes).
NOTE: If you are screwing Garex into the single thickness of Metal door, it is suggested you place a strip of wood on the inside to receive the excess length of the screws.
The seal is essential for your Garex unit and with normal wear will last for years. When worn the seal can be removed and replaced. A new seal is available separately.
Installation Of Surface Seal: Position on top of groove, hold at one end, using downward pressure slide thumb along groove to secure seal or use dabs of Elast-O-Seal sealant.
